Well, it's not much of a break la actually, a lot of studies to do 'cuz after that week will be one hell of a sickening time...for TESTS!!!
Recently there lots of news going on. Besides the Beijing Olympics and the war in Georgia, we have another very interesting local news. I'm not sure weather you guys notice it, 'cuz it's actually a bit stupid and mou-liu la.
The news goes like this:
Recently, an estimated 5,000 students of a local technological university staged a protest march on Tuesday after the chief minister of central Selangor suggested that the campus allow 10% of non-Bumiputras enrollment. This has become quite an issue in our country since it involves the most sensitive thingy..."races"! FYI, the institution currently only enrolls Bumiputras.
Wearing black shirts, (well, I dunno why they choose black lor actually. Just imagine, if you are going to have a riot, aren't you are suppose to wear something bright so people can spot you?! look at BERSIH...they wore yellow..) and carried banners that read 'Do not challenge Bumiputra rights,' 'Save our university' and 'The university will belong to Bumiputras forever.'
Well, don't you think that is a bit naive and stupid? I mean, if they really enroll non-bumiputras, that doesn't means that they will loose their rights or what right? Just look at other local universities, the bumiputras are still the majorities, the school management is still in their hands and we as the non-bumiputras still lives pacefully with them right?
"The university is the last bastion for Malay and bumiputra students to further their studies and there is no need to open it up to other races. If something like this is allowed to happen, then there will be a worrying situation where many Malay institutions will crumble and be 'Malaysia-nised'.
Err...if that is so why don't they just diminished the quota-based enrollment in the local universities? Since they had already given this special opportunity. Don't they know that this is one of the major reason that causes minorities to frequently resort to private colleges or studying abroad.
And there's another thing that I don't understand, the word 'Malaysia-nised'. Our country is special of it's multiracial background. I mean, since primary we've learn the word 'bersatu-padu' in Moral. The importance of unity among races is very important to bring up our country's image and economy. I mean don't they realised this?! This matter is really making things worst lor...
Insecurity really makes them look foolish...Well, maybe different people have different views towards this matter. How about you?Okay...that's all for now...have to packed up my things and go back Malacca d...hehe~
